We all know how important your wedding day is. All eyes will be on you and you will be the centre of attention. It can be a nerve-wracking day for you and your anxiety levels will be at their highest. You will be up in front of all of your friends and family, so you will want to look your best. And if you look your best, you feel confident and happy.
There is so much to think about with your wedding day. There is your dress, your hair, your makeup, your sexy underwear …. the list is endless. Do not worry if anything goes wrong, nobody will probably notice any mistakes.
One thing that is really important to any bride is the makeup. It is best to go with a qualified makeup artist because they know what works best with your wedding theme. What will suit your skin tone and what will last? Having a qualified makeup artist isn’t always possible, it might be out of your budget. So doing it yourself or asking a friend to do it is also okay.

Before The Big Day
If you want a facial treatment before you get married, you really should do this a few days before the wedding. When you have a facial, it can make your face go red for a little while. This is because the blood is stimulated and it is harmless, it will go away after a few hours or a day.
If you have your eyebrows shaped before the wedding, either by waxing or threading. You will be left with red marks for a day or two. And you can’t wear makeup either for a day, because the area is open and delicate. You have basically ripped hair out of your face and you need to look after it.
Colour Scheme
Your bridal colours are going to be totally different to your everyday colours. You will want them to be more subtle. You will want your colours to match your dress, accessories and your flowers. If you wear makeup that is too bright or totally different to your wedding scheme, it will look out of place and you will end up looking like a clown.
Look online and through the wedding books to get some makeup ideas, Then have a few practice sessions before the big day to make sure that your makeup looks good.
Apply Moisturiser
Apply a good moisturiser on your face. This will help with a smooth and hydrated surface. Once you have applied it, leave it for 20 minutes to soak right in before applying makeup. Then apply a primer, to help your base stay on even better.
Foundation
For a foundation, you want one that is going to match your skin perfectly. You don’t want to look too pale on your wedding day, but you also don’t want to look orange. Go for a 24-hour coverage on the foundation, hopefully, it will last longer and get you through the whole day. If your skin is dry, use an oil-based or water-based foundation. If you have oily skin, use a matte foundation. Then make sure you blend the foundation well into the side of your head and your neck.
For Your Eyes
You are going to feel emotional, so you need waterproof mascara for the day. You will cry and you do not want panda eyes underneath your veil. Waterproof mascara is easily identifiable in a drug store. They are the same as a normal mascara but have a blue band around them. You will also want to find a waterproof eyeliner if you are wearing one.
Keep your eye shadow subtle, especially if you are wearing bright lipstick. You should remember the rule of lips or eyes, people only want to focus on one thing. If you try to make eyes and lips the focus, it is too much. A subtle smoky eye look is always good.
Beautiful Lips
For your lips, you should choose a colour that compliments your skin and hair. It needs to match your dress and not look too out there. A lip liner will stop the lip colour from bleeding, buy a clear one as it will go with any colour lipstick. Choose a long-lasting lipstick, you don’t want to keep touching it up through the day. A lip gloss will also be a good thing to wear on your wedding day. It will add a bit of shine to your lips. You can even get a shimmery lip gloss!
