How To Detox And Feel Better

When you want to detox, you need to make sure that you are doing the right detox for the toxins that are in your body. If you need to detox from alcohol or prescription drugs, it won’t work if you use the detox for your skin or diet.

A Diet Detox

A diet detox is easy to do on your own from the comfort of your own home and it will help to clean the inside of your body of toxins. This kind of detox might be called, a cleanse a cleansing diet or fasting.

Fasting is where you have an absolutely low calory diet, for a few days. Doing this takes the strain off your digestive system and re-energises the natural detoxing powers of your body. Fasting is not for everyone and you need to be careful that you are still getting enough calories to be able to get through the fasting time. Fasting diets are often where you drink a diet drink instead of eating a whole meal.

Cleansing detox is where you will eat more than usual colon cleansing fibre. This will literally sweep out the developed toxin that is in your colon. An organic juice-raw food ‘fast or diet’ might be a beneficial way for healthy people to help the detox process. However again, any ‘fast’ isn’t to be taken lightly and you do need to make sure you are eating enough food.

Skin Detoxing

Skin detox is where the toxins leave your body through the pores in your skin. So it leaves your skin feeling good from the outside, to deep inside the dermis and epidermis. Skin detox is a good thing to do if you are getting blocked pores. Because it will clear them and hopefully improve your skin on the outside. Saunas are a great way for detoxing your skin. As they make you sweat the toxins out. But you could get this effect at home by using a bowl or even a bath of boiling water and steaming a room.

Running is another way of skin detoxing because it helps you to sweat the toxins out. So if you feel a bit rubbish, take a trip to the gym or run down the road and break out a sweat. You will feel so much better about it.

Alcohol Detox

Sadly not all detox can be done at home on your own. Some need to be done under supervision. Some toxins like drink and drugs have side effects when they start leaving your body. This is because your body has become dependent on these products. If you detox from alcohol, then you might be left with shakes, cravings for alcohol, and nausea.

Speak to your doctor before you detox from alcohol, especially if you are totally dependent on it. If it is just a case of drinking too much at the weekend, and you want to flush your body out. This is easily done by drinking plenty of water.

Drink Water Daily

Drinking water on a daily basis is so good for your body, it not only hydrates it. But it also helps to flush out the toxins that are in your body. Water is so good for your liver as it removes the toxins and flushes the liver tissues. If you add a slice or two of lemon in there, it is even better for you.

Drinking water will also help alongside your skin detox and it will leave your skin feeling softer and more hydrated. It will also help you if you are prone to UTIs, as it will flush your bladder out and stop you from getting infections.
